CROSSWORKS Across Disciplines Corrective Body Work SEMINAR Taught by: Claudia Ross-Kuhn GREAT BREAKTHROUGHS IN MUSCULOSKELETAL TREATMENTS GET LASTING RESULTS FOR YOUR CLIENTS/PATIENTS AND BUSINESS I will share with you the most effective techniques from the advanced branches of bodywork that I have studied. The emphasis will be on practical manipulations that: correct displaced muscles, organs and other soft tissues; re-educate nerves; break adhesions; and open interstitial water- ways. CROSSWORKS is a creative experience that is cross-disciplinary. I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1981, and a practitioner of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and other Chinese internal arts since1974. The techniques I have studied and use the most are influenced by Neuromuscular Reeducation, Berry Work, Myofascial Release, Chi Kung, and acupressure. These techniques, combined and used as needed, make extremely efficient and effective work. Other experiences and studies have influenced the creation of CROSSWORKS as well: an MA at the University of Washington; 13 years of re-evaluation co-counseling; networking with physical therapists, chiropractors, naturopaths, and other body workers; meditation; visual arts; spiritual practices; and my clients, friends, and family. The techniques I will teach work best if you know the origins, insertions, actions, and synergists of the muscles of the affected areas. For your own sake, review the shoulder, neck, pelvis and lumbar region especially. If you haven't already got it, get Kapit and Nelsons' Anatomy Coloring Book and Bryan Edwards Flash Anatomy for muscles, or any other excellent source you may know of that offers all of the above information on anatomy. It's nice if you know their names, but more importantly, you should know exactly where and how the muscles work. Review! Bring the following items to class: - A massage or chiropractic table, set low. - Oil bowl - Sheets - A notepad - A bathing suit or other skimpy clothes - Your anatomy books I come to my work with an open mind and heart and consider it a privilege to share my work.
